It’s that time of year again! I know we’re supposed to be being frugal and there’s always the old £1 chocolate advent calendars to go for, but if you’re looking for something else, I’ve got your back.
Kids advent calendar inspiration
An alternative to chocolate, this one is a sweets calendar from Haribo, and it even glows in the dark. A real treat for the kids, and great for those with a dairy allergy.

We have a traditional fabric calendar too, and I just get a bag of chocolate coins or little toy treats to put in the pockets.
I really like this little tree and calendar with a decoration each day so by the end of it you have a lovely table top tree, perfect for younger kids and you can bring it out year on year.
Your little Harry Potter fan will love this reasonably priced advent calendar.
Advent calendars for women
You can’t go far wrong with chocolate, and how about making it a bit more special with this chocolate-covered oreo calendar from La-di-da sweet treats? They are topped with handmade Christmas decorations for that extra special touch.

The best advent calendars are personal, if you get an easy-to-make gift box calendar and fill it with things they love, it will be the greatest ever. Think mini toiletries, perfume samples, makeup samples, chocolates, jewelry, stationery and little ornaments, socks, knickers, and bras, use your imagination. If money is tight write little love notes or positive affirmations inside to brighten their day.
I really like this one as it has a mixture of bath gifts, candles and Christmas decorations, so a bit of everything and the boxes are really pretty and reusable.
How about a relaxing cup of tea a day?
Advent calendars for men
My husband had one of these last year and he loved trying a new beer each day, and this one is sustainable too.
How about a hot chili sauce advent calendar?
I don’t know whether to put this one in for the kids or for the men, either one will love it! Each door has a different electronic game to keep them amused.
Have a lovely Christmas xxx
