I’ve been reading MM (Male-Male) only erotic romance for a couple of years now. Occasionally I get tempted with an MF or reverse harem trope but I just can’t go back. Way before Heated Rivalry became popular. Also a big fan of those boys. I love hearing other people’s recommendations. There are some common books that get recommended and I’ve included some of those in my list if I’ve read them and rate them. Sometimes books get hyped up and they’re average at best or just not my thing. I always encourage readers to make their own mind up. It’s great when you find a series or an author you love and you know it’s going to last you a while.
My list are all books I’ve read and can personally recommend. They all have a good plot and character development and are available on Kindle unlimited for free. They all contain mature themes and are recommended for readers 18+. Upending Tad by Kora Knight is part of a series of books and it is one book series I wish I could wipe my memory and read again and again. BDSM themed with good examples of consent and risk awareness. Gay awakening and BDSM awakening.
The Firm by Cora Rose is a series of mafia dark romance books. Any book by Cora Rose gets my vote. Another favourite series of mine from Cora Rose is her Unexpected series, which starts with Whit’s story. If you fancy a dabble into the omegaverse but you aren’t sure, try Pit Stop by Cora Rose. Perfection.
Ballsy Boys series by K. M. Neuhold is a book series about a gay porn studio. Despite the premise it has a great plot and you’ll fall in love with all the guys who work at the studio. This author always writes well and her books have become my comfort reads. There’s always a HEA (happy ever after) and not too much angst. She manages to create passion and need and love each time. She has plenty of series that always deliver. I also love these series by her: Four Bears Construction, Palm Island, Ink Slingers and for my dark romance girlies/guys, her mafia series Unhinged.
The Game Series by Cara Dee is what gave me the push to explore the BDSM scene finally and I’m so glad I did. I’m not saying the same will happen to you, but you never know! There’s around 15 books in the series and some spin offs. Each one follows a different relationship. Some are poly, some throuples, some couples. Each one follows the same BDSM community and often different kinks. So beautifully written I actually think it’s a real place. I’m totally invested in the world and characters. She has other books too to explore.
My Dark Jock by Arden Long is amazing. College football teammates who are enemies to lovers, the spice is top tier D/s relationship low on the football content.
Rent: Paid in Full by Jesse H Reign is a college roommate gay awakening broke/wealthy trope. Another of my favourite prolific authors. Every book is good but this is one of my standouts. If you liked Heated Rivalry, but wanted it a bit spicier, try Jesse’s Poetry on Ice, part of the Totally Pucked series. It’s enemies to lovers just like HR.
Hidden Scars by Andi Jaxon, part of the Darby U Hockey Boys series is another ice hockey fave. This one is a bit more angsty but I enjoyed it so much. Their relationship is so sweet and of course, spicy.
