I find writing things down to be grateful for really good for my mental health, and I highly recommend it. We tend to focus on the negative, so by thinking about the positive, you realise how great things actually are. Nothing wrong with a good wallow every now and again though.
Here’s my autumn gratitude list:
- The season change and I much prefer the colder months
- My daughter is enjoying secondary school after starting in September
- My dog thinks he is a lap dog
- My cat sitting at the breakfast bar
- Warm snuggles in bed with my son
- Shelter
- Having enough food to eat
- Being able to go away in half term to Yorkshire
- Blankets
- Hot water bottles
- Painkillers
- TV
- Crisps
- Chocolate
- Journals
- Creative expression
- Art
- Photographs
I could go on, but I think that’s enough for now. What are you grateful for?

I write down something every day that I am grateful for, it makes me realise life is about the little things and not just the big things.
What a great list of things to be grateful for. I am grateful for a lot of those things, especially chocolate and hot water bottles.
What a lovely gratitude list. Love that your dog thinks he’s a lapdog and cosy snuggles in bed are the best xxx
What a great list. Thanks for sharing!
